Who is involved in Moe Kura?

411 Māori and 754 non-Māori mothers and children are participating in Moe Kura. They originally joined an earlier study known as E Moe, Māmā: Maternal Sleep and Health in Aotearoa/New Zealand, which has become Moe Kura.

Can I join Moe Kura?

No. The study began in October 2009 and women were recruited until October 2011. We are now following them and their children. If you are interested in being involved in future research please contact us here.

As a participant, what happens to the information I provide?

Information you provide will be treated as strictly confidential, and only the research team will have access to it. Your answers will remain completely anonymous.

This project has been reviewed and approved by the Central Region Ethics Committee (CEN09/09/070).

I am enrolled in the current study, what if I no longer wish to take part?

Participation in all stages of the study is completely voluntary. Each time data is collected we will contact you and invite you to participate. You can choose to be involved or you may decline to participate in that data collection round. You can also choose to provide only questionnaire data, or you can choose to withdraw from the study at any time.

Where can I access study results?

We have learned a lot from E Moe, Māmā already. We regularly post findings on our Facebook page. We have also presented information to community groups and other researchers in New Zealand and overseas.

The analysis of information from E Moe, Māmā will continue. We are also now beginning to look at information from Moe Kura, so Like our Facebook page or keep checking back with us if you want to know more.
